Dear Customers,
At Eurotronix, we closely monitor market developments to anticipate the challenges and opportunities that may impact the supply chain of electronic materials and components. Looking ahead to 2026, we would like to share with you a consolidated overview of the main trends:
- Price trends: Key metals such as copper, gold, and silver remain at historically high price levels, with further increases expected—particularly influenced by energy costs and geopolitical factors. Other materials, such as certain plastics, show greater price stability. Overall, the market indicates an upward trend in pricing, although moderate for some components.
- Manufacturing capacity and lead times: Most manufacturers anticipate an increase in production capacity (ranging from approximately 7% to 20% in some cases), which should help to alleviate bottlenecks. Nevertheless, we recommend planning in advance, as lead times may still extend depending on raw material availability and continued instability across logistics channels. From our experience, Asian manufacturers—particularly those in China and Taiwan—are generally less affected by bottlenecks, given their dominant position in global production compared to American and European manufacturers.
- Logistics and transit times: The international context remains influenced by tensions along strategic routes (such as the Suez Canal and the Taiwan Strait) and the ongoing reorganization of maritime alliances. This has resulted in longer transit times on certain routes and freight costs that are highly sensitive to geopolitical developments. Current data suggests that shipping lead times have stabilized around 50 days, compared with significantly shorter transits prior to the ongoing conflict in the Red Sea. Much of the Asia–Europe maritime traffic continues to be diverted via the Cape of Good Hope, and no short- or medium-term improvement is expected. In light of this logistics situation, we are actively exploring alternative transport methods to help mitigate the impact on delivery schedules.
In conclusion, the sector is facing an environment of upward price pressure and potential logistical tensions, yet accompanied by a progressive increase in manufacturing capacity. This should contribute to greater stability and reliability in service levels.
At Eurotronix, we reaffirm our commitment to keeping our customers informed and supporting them in planning their supply needs, ensuring tailored solutions in a continuously evolving environment.
Kind regards,
Eurotronix Management Team
