Thanks to the manufacturer Manyue we solved the project of one of our clients by using a 1000F LCC as a battery.
Project Requirements:
A company in the electricity distribution sector had equipment with sensors not connected to the electrical grid, and required a high-capacity energy storage solution that could also be charged to 100% in the shortest possible time during installation and thus verify its correct operation.
LCC capacitors are the best choice for this application as they offer the advantages of a battery and the benefits of a capacitor:
- High level of safety: they are not flammable in short circuit situations
- Fast charging: 50 times faster than lithium-ion battery and 250 times faster than lead-acid battery.
- Long service life: They can be fully charged and discharged 50,000 times and are usable for more than 10 years.
- Low maintenance cost
- Wide working temperature range: -30ºC +70ºC
- Ecological: No toxic heavy metals such as Pb, Cd or Hg
Solution Study:
Normally, 1 or 2 Farad capacitors are usually installed in these applications, since they are connected to the grid, but in this project the choice of the 1000F LCC from the manufacturer Manyue was ideal so as not to have to worry about changing the battery either due to loss of capacity or because it discharges quickly.
Manyue is a world-leading manufacturer, ranking #6 in the manufacture of aluminum E-caps and #3 in the manufacture of polymer capacitors. Its highly technological and high-performance products led us to select part-number ZCC108S0YL60RRAAP, whose specifications met the project requirements:
- Capacity: 1000F (-20%, +50%)
- Nominal voltage: 3.8V
- ESR: 20mOhm
- Dimensions: 18mm diameter x 60mm height
